We are looking for an experienced Team Leader to spearhead the development and expansion of our diverse range of programs.

  • Fixed-term, full-time role until end of June 2025. Bentley based.
  • $87,416 - $89,221 inclusive of 11% superannuation

Your new role

We're seeking an innovative leader to pioneer the development and expansion of our diverse range of programs at Curtin University. From social sports competitions to kids' holiday programs, student competitions, recreation initiatives, and large-scale student events, you'll have the opportunity to shape the experiences of our students and wider community.

To succeed in this role, we require candidates with 3-5 years of experience in similar positions. We're particularly interested in candidates who possess:

  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to build a positive, high-performing team culture.
  • Experience coordinating and managing multiple sport and recreation-based programs and services.
  • A proven track record in conflict management.

Essential Criteria:

  1. Demonstrated time management and organisational skills including ability to meet deadlines, proven scheduling/prioritising skills and ability to coordinate sporting competitions.
  2. Demonstrated experience in sporting competition management and organising multiple sporting teams’ involvement, including recruitment and team training.
  3. Demonstrated people management skills with the ability to provide guidance to team members and support the creation and maintenance of an effective customer focused efficient team culture.
  4. Demonstrated effective oral and written communication skills to consult, negotiate, and liaise with a diverse range of people with cross cultural sensitivity.
  5. Demonstrated ability to manage financial aspects of events or programs, and monitoring event/program budgets to ensure maximum returns.
  6. Demonstrated ability to work effectively, independently and with others as a team in providing a high quality of service.

Further information: 

  • A valid Working with Children's Check and First Aid Certificate is a requirement of this position. 
  • A recent National Police Clerance is a requirement of this position.
  • As the Curtin Stadium is open seven days a week, including WA state public holidays, from 6am to 10pm (Monday to Thursday), 6am to 8pm (Friday) and 8am to 4pm (Saturday and Sunday) therefore you will need to be available to work outside of normal hours including weekends on occasion.
  • You will require current work rights in Australia that match the tenure of this role to be considered.
