Description

Rugby Development Officers are integral to the growth and strategy for increasing participation whilst connecting the wider community to Rugby Union in the ACT & SNSW region. To deliver high quality, safe and inclusive programs that create memorable experiences and inspire participation across our community.

This full-time position of Rugby Development Officer is based in Wagga Wagga, NSW. The primary role is to support the Southern Inland region, whilst also servicing the greater ACT Brumbies region where required. The position exists to enhance Rugby across Southern Inland by increasing Junior Participation, providing education opportunities for Local Clubs, Schools, Coaches, Volunteers and Match Officials, whilst aiming to retain and recruit new members.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Implement the junior recruitment strategy in the ACT and Southern NSW region in line with the Rugby Australia and ACT Brumbies Rugby strategic direction. 
  • Engage and consult with schools to coordinate school-based rugby competitions including Primary & High School and College 7’s, 10’s Gala Days.
  • Pursue engagement of stakeholders with a view to enhancing and improving methods of communication and promotion of the game within the guidelines of the ACT/SNSW Strategic Plan.
  • Work directly with Rugby Development Manager (RDM) & Rugby Australia (RA) on strategy to enhance ACT Brumbies footprint & growth of the game holistically.
  • Ensure the support & completion of key development strategies including Get into Rugby, Play 7s, Tri Tag Rugby, Clinics, Camps and Competitions.
  • Maintain communication with RA regarding Rugby Development Program initiatives.
  • Oversee Use of Development Calendar for key events in Southern Inland Region
