About the role – This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced sports and exercise physiotherapist to work as a Senior Physiotherapist, within Physical Therapies at the AIS Campus in Canberra. Work in a high performance multi-disciplinary team environment delivering targeted, impactful programs as athletes prepare for their benchmark events.
In consultation with the Physical Therapies Lead, the successful candidate will:
- Provide high performance best practice physiotherapy support to onsite programs and priority projects
- Actively promote and role model the AIS values of Excellence, Integrity, Respect and Teamwork, and contribute to positive organisational change, effective communication, and continuous improvement at the AIS
- Improve capability within the HP network via educating and mentoring staff (support staff and coaches) & athletes on various themes including best-practice clinical care and implementation of work from the athlete availability framework
- Engage with the national sport system to optimise performance outcomes via physiotherapy technical expertise
- Foster a culture of outcome driven, quality performance focused support across branches of the ASC
About you – We’re seeking a highly motivated APA Titled Sports and Exercise physiotherapist with proven experience in high performance sport. You will be someone who enjoys a varied and busy workload, with proven, advanced communication skills.
Within the AIS Clinical Services team, you’ll be a strong team player working collaboratively, establishing and maintaining effective partnerships with key internal and external stakeholders to identify and deliver world class performance and business outcomes.
Our successful candidate will have:
- Tertiary qualifications in Physiotherapy.
- AHPRA Registration to practice physiotherapy in Australia
- Titled APA Sports and Exercise Physiotherapist certification
- Minimum 6 years’ experience working as a sports physiotherapist in high performance sporting environments
- Demonstrated success providing sports physiotherapy services to achieve high performance outcomes within an inter-disciplinary team.
- Demonstrated ability to provide professional leadership, in ways that produce outcomes through collaborative partnerships, creating a positive workplace and broader sport relationships
- Demonstrated experience in making complex decisions in high pressure environments
This position is offered as a FIXED-TERM position until 21 December 2029 with the possibility of being extended or made ongoing.
