Yarra Plenty Waves is seeking an experienced and passionate Head Coach to lead our coaching team, inspire our swimmers, and drive our mission of developing and inspiring a life-long love of SWIMMING.

Your Role

As our Head Coach, you'll be at the heart of our club, responsible for:

• Leading and Mentoring: Guiding our dedicated team of coaches across all levels, helping them learn and grow professionally.
• Building Our Culture: Keeping our positive, family-focused atmosphere strong, supporting our swimmers, parents, coaches, and volunteers.
• Coaching Our Best: Working directly with our National Squads, running programs that meet state and national standards.
• Designing Our Future: Creating and putting into action smart training plans that help swimmers develop over the long term, from beginners to elite athletes.
• Strengthening Pathways: Teaming up with our Swim School and club leaders to create clear paths for swimmers to progress.
• Connecting with the Sport: Staying in touch with Swimming Victoria, Swimming Australia, and other key partners.
• Being a Club Champion: Being a visible, friendly, and motivating presence at the pool and within our community.

About You

We're looking for someone with:

• Current Swimming Australia Coach Accreditation (Advanced minimum)
• At least five years of coaching experience (including state/national level)
• A strong understanding of athlete development and talent pathways
• Experience leading a coaching team and building positive culture
• Excellent communication and leadership skills
• A passion for coaching, wellbeing, and community sport
• Current Working with Children Check, CPR, First Aid, and Pool Lifeguard certifications
• A current driver’s licence and legal right to work in Australia

• Performance Coach Accreditation
• Strength & Conditioning qualifications
