Reporting to the Marketing Manager and working side-by-side with the Commercial, Marketing and Events team, we are seeking a versatile and proactive Marketing Officer to join our team on a 6-month parental leave cover contract. This role is ideal for a marketing professional with a strong foundation in marketing automation and email marketing, who is also comfortable taking on a broad range of marketing responsibilities. While the primary focus will be on marketing automation, the successful candidate will also support general marketing administration, assist with campaign execution, and contribute to event rollout and fan experience initiatives.
In the marketing automation space, you will be capable of designing, building and deploying high impact email campaigns. This includes curating, building and executing all email related communications, defining and building customer journeys and nurturing our database of more than 200K records.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work closely with the Marketing Manager to develop and support end-to-end acquisition to grow our databases. This includes building customer journeys, developing and executing eDM and SMS campaigns and optimising fan and participant experiences across our owned channels and live events to improve loyalty and revenue generation.
- Act as a Systems Champion for our marketing automation system (Active Campaign) across all brands (Netball Queensland, Queensland Firebirds and Nissan Arena) to deliver strategic priorities.
- Lead and support the integrity of our data, by maintaining our databases, monitoring our data connections from supporting systems and ensuring appropriate privacy protocol is followed when executing campaigns.
- Lead the development of monthly newsletters including gathering content from internal stakeholders, editing, creative content development (using Canva), and commercial integration.
- Lead the development of email marketing to support all marketing campaigns across brands in support of the marketing calendar including lead generation.
- In conjunction with the Marketing Manager, utilise third party gamification system (Tradable Bits) to help nurture leads and new contacts.
- Undertake analysis, reporting and tracking of all email communications and databases.
- Support the management of external stakeholders across marketing automation, data and gamification, including onboarding of any new systems that feed into the marketing automation system.
- Provide general marketing support across the marketing team where required to deliver on team goals, projects, campaigns and to maintain our digital channels.
- Assist with the preparation and delivery of events with a focus on the participant/fan to ensure positive driveway-to-driveway experience.
- Support the CM&E team to deliver first class fan experiences at events. This may include:
- the delivery of Queensland Firebirds, SSN matches, and HART Premier Netball League matches played at Nissan Arena or other preseason venues
- the delivery of Queensland State Events, carnivals, and competitions.

ABOUT YOU
- A marketing-related degree and relevant work experience
- Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Experience with Active Campaign or similar email marketing platform
- A strong foundation in email marketing, SMS and marketing automation, particular in how it relates to customer journeys, lead generation and optimising marketing campaigns for driving revenue
- Understanding of data protocols and how to correctly manage records and maintain a clean database
- A base understanding of how API connections work (preferred but not essential)
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely
- Experience in managing various stakeholders both internal and external to achieve business outcomes
- A base understanding of Canva.
- Skills in website CMS management desired but not essential.
