Wests Tigers has proudly competed in the NRL since 2000, celebrating our first premiership in 2005. In 2023, we expanded into the Telstra Women’s Premiership, reinforcing our commitment to the growth of the women’s game.

The Role 

Reporting to the Chief Commercial Officer, the Game Day & Events Manager is responsible for planning, delivering and reviewing all club game days and events. This includes ensuring operational excellence, maximising fan engagement, managing budgets, and collaborating with internal teams, venues, sponsors and stakeholders. The role also contributes to key projects, internal events, and the ongoing growth of Wests Tigers’ community and commercial presence. 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Plan, manage and deliver all Wests Tigers home game day operations in line with NRL and broadcaster requirements. 
  • Develop and manage the annual events and game day calendar, ensuring seamless planning and execution. 
  • Manage game day and event budgets, ensuring cost efficiency and maximising revenue opportunities. 
  • Collaborate with venue managers, contractors, and internal departments to deliver high-quality fan and corporate experiences. 
  • Create and oversee game day presentations, run sheets, timings, accreditation, and risk management plans. 
  • Lead the planning and execution of special events such as Season Launch, End-Of-Season Gala, Golf Day, Sportsman’s Lunch, and corporate hospitality functions. 
  • Drive fan engagement and satisfaction through innovative, memorable, and inclusive experiences. 
  • Support sponsor activations and ensure delivery of contractual obligations and KPIs at events. 
  • Coordinate internal club events that align with Wests Tigers’ values and culture. 
  • Monitor and evaluate events and game days, providing reports, feedback, and recommendations for continuous improvement. 

What We’re Looking For 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Events, Hospitality Management, or a related field (preferred). 
  • 3+ years’ experience in a similar events management role, ideally within sport or entertainment. 
  • Strong organisational, planning, and time management skills with attention to detail. 
  • Excellent communication skills - written, verbal, and presentation. 
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects with tight timelines. 
  • Proven leadership, problem-solving, and negotiation skills. 
  • Creative mindset with the ability to deliver innovative and engaging experiences. 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and Canva. 
  • Passion for sport, particularly rugby league, and the drive to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. 
  • Flexibility to work outside standard business hours, including evenings, weekends, and travel as required. 
  • Must be legally entitled to work in Australia and hold a valid driver’s licence.
