Australian Athletics (AA) is the governing body for Athletics in this country. It is a National Sporting Organisation whose major partner is the Australian Sports Commission. AA is responsible for athletics, including high performance, participation, coaching, officiating, juniors, para-athletics, domestic and international competition. Australian Athletics has a critical role in leading, fostering and encouraging participation in athletics in Australia and promoting excellence in performance.
As we head towards the 2026 Commonwealth Games and 2028 LA Games, it is an exciting time to join our Team! We are currently seeking to recruit a Partnerships Manager (Full Time – 2 Year Fixed Term Contract).
About the Role:
The Partnerships Manager is responsible for the day-to-day management and delivery of Australian Athletics' commercial partnership agreements. This role ensures all contractual obligations are fulfilled to a high standard whilst maintaining strong, positive relationships with partners and internal stakeholders.
Your core duties will include:
- Lead the day-to-day servicing and management of Australian Athletics partners, ensuring all contractual obligations are fulfilled on time and to a high standard.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for partners, providing excellent customer service and proactive communication.
- Work closely with Marketing and Communications teams to ensure partner messsaging and branding is effectively integrated across all channels.
- Oversee the collection and analysis of partnership data to provide insights into performance and return on investment.
What we are looking for:
We are seeking an experienced and proactive partnerships professional, who thrives on building strong relationships and delivering exceptional results. You will bring a proven track record in managing commercial partnerships or sponsorships, with the ability to think creatively about how to get the best results out of these agreements.
Highly organised and detail oriented, who can juggle conflicting tasks all while maintaining excellent service to Australian Athletics stakeholders. Your communication and realtionship skills will help you connect with a diverse range of stakeholders, including but not limited to corporate partners, government bodies and traditional media broadcasters. A passion for sport and a genuine commitment to teamwork, innovation, and integrity will see you succeed in this role.
Ideally you will have:
- Demonstrated experience in partnership management, account management, or similar client-facing roles.
- Understanding of commercial partnerships and sponsorship activation.
- Experience with CRM systems and partnership management tools.
- Creative and proactive mindset with the ability to think outside the box to develop innovative activation ideas and amplify partnership value.
- A keen commitment to clean sport and abiding by AA's National Integrity Framework suite of policies including the Australian National Anti-doping Policy, Safeguarding Children and Young Persons Policy, and Code of Conduct.
- Hold and maintain a valid Working with Children Check and (or ability to hold) Police Check.
