About the Opportunity

We’re on the lookout for a proactive, organised and solutions-focused Operations Coordinator to join the Tasmania Jewels.

In this hands-on role, you’ll play a critical part in delivering a best-in-class game day experience for fans, players, basketball staff and partners. Working closely with the General Manager - Operations, and alongside venue staff, contractors and internal teams, you’ll coordinate the behind-the-scenes logistics that ensure every home game and training environment runs smoothly.

This is a full-time, permanent role in a fast-paced, high-performance sporting environment. Due to the nature of professional sport, weekend and event-based work will be required throughout the NBL and WNBL seasons.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver Seamless Game Day Operations

• Coordinate all back-of-house game day logistics including venue operations, staff, volunteers, broadcast, teams and referees
• Act as the primary game day liaison with the WNBL, ensuring all league operational requirements are met
• Manage game day preparation, setup and pack-down, including run sheets, on-court activities and presentations
• Work closely with venue operators and contractors to ensure clear communication and accountability
• Coordinate game day signage in collaboration with the Commercial team
• Maintain accurate procedures, checklists and documentation for all home games
• Proactively identify issues and implement real-time solutions to keep events running smoothly
• Support the development and implementation of WHS policies and procedures

Support Team & Basketball Operations

• Manage all WNBL player, staff and club accreditation
• Assist with operational requirements for training sessions, tours and special events
• Liaise with uniform suppliers to ensure appropriate stock for players, staff and officials
• Support team travel bookings in collaboration with the Basketball Operations team

Manage High Performance Centre Operations

• Act as the main point of contact for facility hirers, community groups and corporate bookings
• Onboard new users, including inductions, safety briefings and access protocols
• Oversee access control, ensuring appropriate use of team-only and shared spaces
• Coordinate cleaning, maintenance, repairs and contractor access
• Conduct regular facility walk-throughs to identify hazards, faults or improvement opportunities
• Manage inventory of consumables and equipment used onsite
• Gather feedback, manage issues and drive continuous service improvement

About You

• Proven experience coordinating operations, events or logistics (sporting environments highly regarded)
• Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail
• Clear, confident written and verbal communication skills
• The ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines
• A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with the confidence to troubleshoot in real time
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively across teams
• An interest in basketball or elite sport (highly advantageous)
• Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as required during the season
