Swim Coach - Competitive Coaching
We have a part-time, opportunity for an enthusiastic Swim Coach to inspire swimmers of all levels, with a focus on competitive performance. The role offers part-time ongoing hours (29 hours per week), with the opportunity to take on additional casual hours, as required. You will deliver tailored training programs, provide feedback to improve technique and endurance, and support swimmers in achieving their goals. The role includes on-deck coaching, race preparation, and attendance at training sessions, swim meets, and competitions. Strong leadership, communication, and a focus on pool safety are essential.
What you will do
Reporting to the Aquatics Manager and Head Coach, the successful candidate will:
- Inspire and motivate swimmers to develop strong, technically correct swimming skills.
- Develop and implement tailored training programs and personalised training sessions that align with performance goals.
- Observe, evaluate, and report on swimmers’ progress toward skill development goals.
- Ensure training squads are effectively managed, ensuring each swimmer is engaged and appropriately challenged.
- Provide administrative support as required.
Who you are
You are an enthusiastic and dedicated instructor who creates a positive and encouraging environment where every swimmer can thrive. You’re professional, adaptable and bring strong communication skills that build confidence both in and out of the pool.
You have the necessary experience, knowledge and skills:
- Strong technical knowledge of swimming techniques, training methodologies, and performance analysis.
- Applicants must hold current CPR and First Aid certification, Lifeguard qualification, and a valid Australian Swim Coach Licence.
- Current Working with Children Check.
- Excellent communication skills and a positive attitude.
- Demonstrated ability to work with swimmers of varying ages and skill levels
