To deliver on our strategy, we have created the new position of National Officiating Manager to lead officiating frameworks, programs and services that support workforce growth, capability, wellbeing, recognition and long-term sustainability across all levels of swimming.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The National Officiating Manager is responsible for providing leadership of Swimming Australia's national officiating workforce and officiating system. A key focus for the role is the successful implementation and continuous improvement of the National Officiating Framework and Officiating Action Plan, contributing to nationally aligned governance, policy, pathways, education and workforce capability. Preferably located in our Melbourne office (possibility for Brisbane or Sydney location) working in a hybrid model, to be considered for this role you will be a relationship-focused leader with experience working across complex sporting environments and a demonstrated understanding of officiating systems, workforce development and stakeholder engagement.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead the implementation and continuous improvement of the National Officiating Framework and Officiating Action Plan. 
  • Identify emerging trends, technologies and opportunities to strengthen officiating nationally. 
  • Support and engage with the Technical Swimming Committee and future advisory structures to inform national officiating priorities, provide technical expertise and contribute to the continuous improvement of officiating across Australia. 
  • Develop and implement initiatives that attract, develop, recognise and retain technical officials across Australia. 
  • Represent and support Swimming Australia on officiating matters at national and international forums. 
  • Ensure education, learning and progression opportunities are nationally aligned, fit for purpose and support consistent officiating standards. 

What You Bring

  • Relevant experience within officiating as an administrator or Technical Official, with demonstrated knowledge of the Australian sporting landscape.
  • Relevant experience working within or alongside a National or State Sporting Organisation desirable.
  • Demonstrated experience and understanding of officiating systems, pathways and workforce development.
  • Experience and skilled in developing strong relationships; influencing and motivating staff and key stakeholders.
  • A growth mindset, always looking for better ways to deliver impact.
