About the Role

We are looking for an outstanding Head Coach to lead, develop and manage the APS swimming program for students in Years 7-12 at Scotch College. This role involves planning and delivering high-quality training sessions, implementing competition strategies and supporting swimmer development. Working closely with students, coaches, the Sports department and our Teacher-in-Charge of Swimming, you will also play a pivotal role in shaping the direction of Scotch’s swimming program, identifying emerging talent, mentoring coaches within our squad and ensuring a high-performance environment that balances athletic excellence with student wellbeing and academic outcomes

About You

The successful applicant will have:

  • Values of respect, responsibility and reverence
  • Commitment to excellence
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to build positive relationships with students, parents and colleagues
  • Strong interest in adolescent male athletic development, health and wellbeing
  • Coaching accreditation, including Australian Swim Coach Licence (essential) / Performance Coach License (desirable)
  • Sound knowledge of swimming technique and analysis, training methods and swimmer development
  • Demonstrated experience coaching swimming at an elite level, in club, school, or representative environment
  • Proven ability to inspire and motivate swimmers of varying skill levels
  • Understanding of APS swimming program and competition strategies
  • Well-developed organisational and time management skills
  • Demonstrated commitment to confidentiality, trust and integrity
  • First Aid qualification and SIA module completion (or willingness to obtain)
  • Relevant qualifications and/or training in child safety and wellbeing
  • Current WWCC (Employee)
