Supported by world-class facilities and a proud history of achievement, Bond Sport is widely recognised as one of Australia's leading university sport programs.

With Brisbane 2032 on the horizon and sport playing an increasingly important role in student recruitment, partnerships and institutional growth, Bond Sport is well positioned to build on its success and further strengthen its profile nationally and internationally.

About the Position

Bond University is seeking a dynamic, highly experienced and adaptable leader to drive the next chapter of Bond Sport's success. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer and forming part of the COO Executive Team, the Director of Sport will lead the development and implementation of the University's Sports Strategy for 2027-2032 and beyond, ensuring sport continues to deliver exceptional outcomes across participation, performance, engagement and commercial sustainability.

Leading a highly experienced team, the Director of Sport will oversee the University's diverse sporting portfolio, from tier-one high-performance programs and elite athlete pathways through to student clubs, inter-university competition and recreational participation. The role will also cultivate key relationships across government, sporting bodies, industry, donors, sponsors and community partners, while identifying opportunities to strengthen Bond's profile, partnerships and impact.

Equally comfortable in the boardroom and on the playing field, the successful candidate will operate at both a strategic and operational level, providing trusted advice to senior University leadership while fostering a culture of excellence across Bond Sport.

About the Person

You are an accomplished leader with the strategic vision, commercial acumen and leadership capability to drive the continued success of a high-profile sporting organisation.

The ideal applicant will have the following:

  • Senior leadership experience within sport, with a proven ability to deliver strong performance outcomes.
  • A track record of developing and executing strategy that drives growth, sustainability and organisational impact.
  • Strong commercial capability, including experience building partnerships, securing revenue opportunities and enhancing organisational profile.
  • Exceptional stakeholder engagement skills, with the credibility to influence and build relationships across sport, industry, government and executive leadership environments.
  • Experience leading and developing high-performing teams and cultures.
  • Outstanding communication and ambassadorial skills, with the ability to represent an organisation at the highest levels.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in sport, business or a related discipline.

This is an outstanding opportunity for a respected sport leader to build on an already successful foundation and help shape the next era of Bond Sport, enhancing its impact, reputation and contribution across the University, the sporting sector and the broader community.
