Description

Brunswick Football Club is seeking applications for the role of Senior Coach for our men’s team in 2027.

The senior men’s side has settled into Division 1 of the Victorian Amateur Football Association (VAFA) since 2025. In 2026 the team was unfortunately hampered with injury and unavailability, which made for a promising start but an unflattering end to the season. We expect to have a full and firing list for the start of 2027 and will be pushing for a finals berth.

We have a young and promising playing list, with the core demographic of our group falling within the 18-28 age bracket, along with quality senior leaders. The club’s vision is to progress to play finals football within Division 1 and obtain eventual promotion to premier football in the near future. 2027 shapes as an exciting year, with 2 senior men’s teams, 1 under 19 men’s and 1 senior women’s team. We have a developed pathway with our junior football club and expect further graduates from this program to progress to senior football in 2027.

Brunswick plays at A.G. Gillon Oval, an impressive ground with large rooms, grandstand, gym and recently renovated clubrooms. The club has been promised $3.325m of federal funding to develop its historic grandstand and play lighting. The club shares a sustained connection with local community and businesses, as well as a strong past playing and supporters community that provides access to high level professional opportunities to support the successful candidate as well as current/potential players and recruits.

Desirable Criteria

  • Prior coaching and/or playing experience in AFL, VFL or other local football
  • Level 1, 2 or 3 accredited coaching qualifications
  • Ability to develop strong relationships with players
  • Ability to develop a consistent game plan
  • Ability to work alongside the recruitment committee and bring talent to the club
  • Willing to work with our women’s program and junior program to support their success

The successful applicant will receive competitive remuneration and access to career opportunities via Brunswick business networks. The club is open to playing and non-playing applicants.
