Cairns Basketball is looking for a passionate and experienced basketball professional to join our team as our Basketball Development Manager.
Location: Trinity Ford Stadium, Cairns
Full-Time: 38 hours per week
Reports to: General Manager
About the Role
The Basketball Development Manager will lead the development of our Representative Programs from U12 through to U23, helping create a clear pathway for players and coaches through to NBL1.
You will work closely with our representative and club coaches, players and teams to ensure we have a consistent approach to coaching, player development and playing philosophy across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate the Representative Program.
- Support and mentor representative coaches.
- Assist with coach and team selection.
- Develop player and coach development programs.
- Help establish consistent coaching and playing standards.
- Support the pathway from junior basketball through to NBL1.
- Provide feedback and professional development opportunities for coaches.
- Ensure child safety requirements are met.
- Attend tournaments, State Championships and representative events.
About You
We are looking for someone who:
- Has strong basketball coaching experience.
- Hold Representative Coach Accreditation.
- Has experience leading or working within a representative or high-performance program.
- Has a current Blue Card.
- Holds a Driver’s Licence.
- Is a strong communicator and team player.
- Is organised and able to manage multiple priorities.
- Is passionate about developing players and coaches.
- Is available to work some mornings, evenings, weekends and travel for tournaments when required.
