If you're an exercise scientist, exercise physiologist or qualified strength coach who wants to deliver personalised strength coaching to people who want to get Stronger, for life inside a purpose-built environment, with a team that takes the science seriously and the care factor even more seriously, read on.
Who we are
VAMOS Strength Training exists for one reason: to help people become Stronger, for life. Not for a summer, not for a race, for life. We believe strength is the foundation of health, independence and happiness as people age, and that most people have never been coached properly to build it.
So we built something different. Every athlete at VAMOS trains in their own private cube, on their own personalised programme, with a coach on hand to support them. No crowded floors, no guessing, no generic classes. Assessments, prescription, progression and support between sessions are all managed on our own coaching platform, and we track every athletes strength results so they can see themselves getting stronger over time.
Our athletes are everyday people in their 40s, 50s, 60s and beyond who have decided strength matters. Many have never lifted before. Many thought it was too late. Watching them find out it isn't is the best part of the job.
We're a founder-led, purpose-led team. We're kind to each other, we work hard, and we're building a business we want to be part of for a very long time.
The role
A VAMOS Strength Training Coach is the heart of the athlete experience. You build a caring relationship with every athlete and guide them towards their personal goals of strength, health and happiness. You'll work coaching shifts inside our custom-designed training environment at Balgowlah, Mosman or the new Brookvale site, and you'll help every athlete feel seen, supported and confident.
What you'll actually do:
- Coach. Run athlete assessments and consultations, prescribe personalised strength programmes, adapt them as athletes progress, and coach in person through every session.
- Host. Create a warm, motivating atmosphere that reflects what VAMOS stands for, and keep cube bookings and session logistics running smoothly for athletes.
- Support. Use our coaching platform and our CRM to stay close to athletes between sessions, so they turn up, stick with it and get the results we promise.
- Run the site. Open and close, keep the space safe, clean and ready, and act as designated first aider when on duty.
Who we're looking for
We hire for character first and credentials second, but you need both.
You are:
- Passionate about helping others become Stronger for life, and you get a kick out of someone's first unassisted squat as much as someone's first 100 kg deadlift.
- Kind, optimistic, energetic and values-driven. Athletes should leave every session feeling better about themselves than when they walked in.
- A real coach. You can see movement, cue it clearly, and know when to push and when to pull back.
- Comfortable with people of all ages and all starting points, including those who are nervous, deconditioned or carrying old injuries.
- Organised and reliable. Shifts, bookings, platforms and follow-ups all happen on time because you make them happen.
- Excited to join a purpose-led team that's changing the way the world experiences strength training.
What you get
- A coaching job that's actually about coaching. Private cubes, personalised programmes, athletes in front of you all the time.
- A purpose-built environment. Custom-designed training spaces with premium equipment, built around how we coach.
- A team worth being part of. Founder-led, close-knit, and growing fast across Sydney, with more sites to come and more leadership roles opening as we go.
- A proper full-time permanent role with salary, super and benefits, with no sales targets strings attached.
- Permanent part-time weekend roles are also available.
