High Performance Sport New Zealand (HPSNZ) was established in 2011 to lead and deliver on key aspects of the High Performance Strategy in New Zealand. HPSNZs vision is ‘Inspiring the nation through more New Zealanders winning on the world stage at Olympic / Paralympic Games and World Championships with a focus on targeted sports’.
HPSNZ is a wholly owned subsidiary company of Sport NZ and is led by a Board appointed by the Minister for Sport & Recreation.

What is the close date for applications?

Do I need to have a High Performance Sport background?
The Chief Executive will lead a HP team known globally for their expertise, leadership of high performance programs and achievement of results, ensuring resources are targeted and prioritised to deliver performance outcomes. The Position Overview notes experience is essential in the international HP multi-sports arena either as an athlete, a coach, a high performance director or a high performance system leader. However, if you believe you fulfil the selection criteria, have a deep understanding of and empathy for sport and have HP experiences at a level that enables you to be a credible and authentic leader of HPSNZ, we will welcome your application.

What is the remuneration level for this role?
This is an international search and we acknowledge the total remuneration package needs to be internationally competitive. When are the shortlist interviews scheduled?
Initial screening will be undertaken upon receipt of each application. At this stage we anticipate shortlist interviews to be scheduled mid-August, 2017. When is the successful candidate expected to commence duties?
We recognise candidates will be required to provide notice to their current employer. Additionally, as this is an international search, the successful candidate may need time to relocate to New Zealand. Where will the Chief Executive be based in New Zealand?
The role is based at the HPSNZ National Training Centre, AUT Millennium, on Auckland's North Shore. Extensive domestic and some international travel will be expected.
