Short DescriptionNetball Victoria is seeking a passionate and experienced Manager to lead the team responsible for the development and growth of our netball coaches and umpires in Victoria.

This role is also responsible for providing technical and tactical support to a variety of programs and development initiatives including State, Academy, VNL and other Netball Victoria programs.

Detailed Description

The purpose of the Coach & Umpire Development Manager is to:

  • Provide technical and tactical support to State, VNL and other Netball Victoria programs of coaches/umpires including Academy programs.
  • Provide management and coordination as well as technical and tactical support to umpires within the NV Umpire Pathway and manage umpire development initiatives.
  • Manage Coach Education courses in the first 5 tiers of the National Accreditation structure in conjunction with the High Performance Administrative Assistant and Coach Development Officer.
  • Manage Umpire Education courses in line with the Netball Australia Umpire Framework.
  • In collaboration with the High Performance Manager develop and implement strategies to increase the number and quality of qualified umpires throughout Victoria.
  • Develop and deliver, in conjunction with the events team, Netball Victoria’s annual Game Development Conference.
  • Work closely with Netball Australia coaching and umpiring representative to ensure Netball Victoria Coaching and umpiring programs are in line with national coaching and umpiring frameworks.

  • Drivers Licence
  • Working with children check
  • Minimum of Advanced Level Coach Accreditation
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in a related field of employment
Desirable
  • Umpire accreditation will be an advantage

Other Details

The successful candidate will preferably neutral affiliation to any Victoria Netball League (VNL) or Regional Victorian Netball League (RVNL) Clubs.  

Further they must have: 

  • Relevant Tertiary qualifications
  • Minimum three (3) years’ experience in a related field of employment.
  • Minimum of Advanced level coach accreditation.
  • Umpire accreditation will be an advantage
  • High level computer literacy essential and strong administrative skills.
  • Strong communication skills; face to face, telephone and in written reports and general correspondence.
  • Ability to set priorities, plan work programs, meet deadlines and manage time effectively.
  • High level interpersonal skills and ability to elicit cooperation of people across a range of stakeholders.
  • Experience in working independently and as an integral part of a team.
  • Interest and experience in Talent Development and High Performance Programs will be an advantage.
  • Drivers License
  • Working with Children Permit
  • Some knowledge and/or experience working with individuals, groups or communities from an All Abilities, Multicultural or Indigenous background will be an advantage.
