About us:

The Cruising Yacht Club of Australia (CYCA) is Australia's premier yacht club and home to one of yachting's most iconic events - the Rolex Sydney Hobart Yacht Race. In addition to having hosted sailing at the 2000 Sydney Olympic Games, Volvo Ocean races and Clipper Round the World Races, it is the sailing venue for the upcoming Sydney Invictus Games 2018.

Established in 1944, the CYCA is Australia's leading exponent of ocean racing and sea safety and will celebrate its 75th Anniversary in 2019, along with the 75th edition of the Sydney Hobart Race.

In preparation for the 2019 celebrations, the club is undergoing a major refurbishment of its clubhouse (due for completion October this year), having already completed the first stage which includes the sailing and administrative offices and Member change facilities.

In addition to the Rolex Sydney Hobart Yacht Race the CYCA has a packed annual sailing calendar, operates one of Australia’s most successful Youth Sailing Academies and is a membership-based organisation with a 223-berth marina, bistro / café, bars and function rooms.
