Basketball ACT invites applications from eligible individuals who wish to be considered for an Appointed Director position. In addition to the Directors elected under the Basketball ACT Constitution, the Directors may themselves appoint up to two other Directors. A person cannot serve more than two consecutive years as an Appointed Director.
Candidates with relevant qualifications and experience in a similar or larger sized organisation will be highly regarded. All candidates must have a genuine interest in, and a broad understanding of, Basketball in Australia or the wider sporting community, strong business acumen supported by demonstrable strategic aptitude, financial literacy, a sound understanding of good governance and well-developed communication skills.

Through filling an Appointed Director position, the Board of Basketball ACT is seeking to address the following:
The need for a person with professional experience in the development of strategy.
Increasing the diversity of the Board, in respect to diversity indicators other than gender.
