  • Salary: $52,500 (pro-rated) + Super
  • Appointment Type: Part-time (28.5 hrs per week), fixed-term role until 12 April 2026
  • Location: Wallumattagal Campus, North Ryde

The Role 

Campus Life has an opening for a University Sport Officer to join the University Sport team at Macquarie University.   

The University Sport programs include Sport Clubs, University Nationals, Inter-varsity and Inter-College competitions, and the Sport Scholar Program. The team ensure that offerings will meet the evolving needs of the student community, will be innovative, and will contribute to a sense of belonging with the University.  

What You’ll Do 

Reporting to the University Sport Lead, you will support the delivery of the University Sport programs and initiatives. This will involve provision of administrative support and working collaboratively with key stakeholders and colleagues to deliver events or programs.  Each day will be different – for example, on any given day you might be responding to student enquiries or setting up for an intercollege sport competition or ordering uniforms for the representative sports teams or creating content for our social media channels.  

What You’ll Need: 

As a starting point, you need to be enthusiastic, willing to listen and learn, and to have an interest in sport.  In addition, you will need to be/have: 

  • Enrolled in a relevant tertiary qualification or recent graduate and/or experience in a relevant field
  • Experience of working in a support, administrative or events-based role
  • Experience in delivering programs and services that maximise participation and engagement
  • Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills including the ability to work collaboratively and to establish, build and maintain respectful and ethical relationships with staff, students, and other key stakeholders
  • Commitment to the development and implementation of equity, diversity and inclusion initiatives
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and well-developed computer literacy skills.
