Description

Are you a visionary leader ready to shape the future of netball in Tasmania? Netball Tasmania is seeking a dynamic, strategic, and people-focused Chief Executive Officer to lead our organisation into its next chapter of growth and impact. As CEO you will lead the team, working closely with the Board and a diverse range of stakeholders to deliver on our strategic objectives, grow the sport statewide, and enhance participation pathways for players, coaches, and officials at all levels.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and inspire a high-performing team to drive participation and performance;
  • Build strong partnerships with government, sponsors, and the broader netball community;
  • Ensure effective management of financial, operational, people and governance functions;
  • Represent Netball Tasmania nationally, advocating for opportunities for high performance pathways; and
  • Champion diversity, inclusion, and community engagement across all programs.

What You Will Bring

  • Proven senior leadership experience, ideally in sports management/business or a related field;
  • Strong understanding of high-performance sport (netball preferred but not essential);
  • Commercial acumen and sound financial management capability;
  • Experience in governance, risk, compliance, and understanding of child safety frameworks;
  • Demonstrated success in building high-performing teams and stakeholder relationships; and
  • Excellent strategic thinking, communication, and report writing skills.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Tertiary qualification in business, sport management, or a related discipline, and/or extensive relevant experience;
  • Current Working with Vulnerable People Check;
  • National Police Check; and
  • Valid Tasmanian driver’s licence (or ability to obtain).

This full-time position requires flexibility, including some evenings and weekends. In return, Netball Tasmania offers a supportive and flexible working environment, enabling work-life balance alongside the dynamic demands of the role.

A competitive remuneration package including a vehicle, will be offered to the successful candidate.
