About the role
Reporting to the Fitness Centre Manager and Assistant Fitness Centre Manager, the Swim School Coordinator oversees the daily operations of the Swim School - including class scheduling, staff coordination, and ensuring every swimmer and family has an exceptional experience.
The role combines people leadership, program coordination, and a hands-on presence in the pool environment, supported by a wider Club team across Operations, Marketing, and HR.
Key responsibilities
- Coordinate and oversee daily Swim School operations
- Manage class scheduling, enrolments, and instructor rosters
- Lead and support instructors, coaches, and office staff
- Deliver excellent customer service to families and members
- Maintain high standards of safety, water quality, and compliance
- Monitor student progression and encourage ongoing participation
- Collaborate with the wider Club team to enhance program success
- Support continuous improvement and staff development initiatives
About you
You’re a proactive and approachable leader who thrives on helping people learn and grow. You’ll bring experience in Learn to Swim program coordination, strong communication skills, and a passion for providing a safe and positive environment for staff and swimmers alike.
What you’ll need
- AUSTSWIM Teacher of Swimming and Water Safety
- AUSTSWIM Teacher of Infant and Preschool Aquatics
- Previous experience in a Learn to Swim coordination or supervisory role
- Strong communication, organisational, and leadership skills
- Current Working with Children Check and Provide First Aid (HLTAID011)
Highly regarded:
- Pool Operations qualification or equivalent experience
- Coaching or AUSTSWIM Assessor accreditation
- Experience monitoring water quality or plant operations
