Catholic Schools NSW (CSNSW) represents NSW Catholic schools and their owners to the media, government and other education sector stakeholders. Catholic Schools in NSW educate approximately one in five NSW students.

CSNSW has the following appointments from the Australian and NSW governments:

  • Approved system authority for funding for the NSW Catholic schools system.
  • Non-government representative body for NSW Catholic schools; and
  • Catholic Block Grant Authority in New South Wales.

Under its Constitution, CSNSW acts as the overarching entity for the purposes of advancing education and religion in Catholic schools in NSW and ensures that Catholic schools meet their compliance requirements and can measure their activities in such a way as to maximize the education and faith outcomes of students. The company's constitution is also backed by canonical mandates of delegation from each of the 11 diocesan bishops in New South Wales who are also the members of the Company.

Employees of CSNSW provide advice (to Government and Schools) on the full range of educational policy and compliance drivers impacting contemporary NSW schooling.

Position Overview

The Sport Administration Assistant provides essential administrative and operational support to the CSNSW Sport team. This role is ideal for someone looking to develop their skills in sports administration while contributing to the smooth operation of events and services.

This is a full time position with a requirement to work from our Sydney, CBD office. Weekend work and travel is required from time-to-time.

Key Responsibilities

General Administration & Communication

  • Provide administrative support to CSNSW Sport staff and stakeholders, including answering phone calls, responding to emails, service desk enquiries, managing schedules.
  • Assist with processing invoices and expense reimbursements
  • Assist with meeting administration, including scheduling, minute-taking, and follow-up actions.
  • Respond to general inquiries from parents, schools, and external stakeholders regarding CSNSW Sport events and programs.
  • Assist in maintaining and updating records, files, and databases.

Event Administration & Support

  • Assist with the coordination of CSNSW Sport events, including venue bookings, travel arrangements, and supplier management.
  • Provide logistical and operational support at sporting events as required.
  • Support schools, parents, and participants with administrative matters related to CSNSW Sport events, including the NSWCCC and NSWCPS pathways.
  • Assist in processing entries and registrations for sports competitions and carnivals.

CSNSW Sport Portal & Digital Support

  • Respond to inquiries related to the CSNSW Sport Portal, providing basic troubleshooting assistance for registration and uniform orders.
  • Provide software support for stakeholders using the CSNSW Sport Portal.
  • Assist in data entry and content management for the Sport Portal.

Other Duties

  • Assist in social media content creation and updates for CSNSW Sport events.
  • Collaborate with other CSNSW teams as required.
  • Provide additional administrative and logistical support as directed by the Director of Sport.
  • Other duties as required.

Essential Requirements

  • Working with Children Check clearance in accordance with the Child Protection (Working with Children) Act 2012.
  • Empathy with and support for the mission, ethos and beliefs of Catholic schools and the communities they serve
  • Ability to interact with colleagues in a constructive and professional manner
  • Experience working in an education setting
  • Possess an understanding of the relevant risk and compliance matters relating to the school sport industry
  • Demonstrated effective interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with people from diverse backgrounds
  • Strong computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, Outlook
  • Typing speed of 40 wpm
  • Excellent organisational, time management, communication, and information technology skills.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and to manage several tasks concurrently
  • Hold a valid NSW driver's licence
  • Proven experience working in a team environment
