Description

Paralympics Australia exists to lead Paralympic sport and help create a more inclusive world. With Brisbane 2032 on the horizon, and a responsibility that extends well beyond a single Games cycle, this is a pivotal time to shape how Paralympic sport delivers lasting social impact across Australia.

The opportunity

We are seeking a Paralympian Services Lead for an exciting, newly created leadership role within a newly established function at PA. This role has been created to build the foundations of PA’s social impact and community programs and to shape how Paralympian services are designed, delivered, and sustained into the future.

This is a rare opportunity to build from the ground up, establishing strategy, partnerships, and programs that support Paralympians and communities through Brisbane 2032 and well beyond.

About the role

Reporting to the Head of Games Delivery & Athlete Engagement, you will lead the strategic, commercial, and operational delivery of PA’s social impact and community programs.

You will strengthen Paralympians’ visibility and voice through paid partnerships, appearances, and storytelling, while negotiating and managing relationships with sponsors, government, education providers, and community organisations. You will set program direction, manage budgets and contracts, and deliver measurable social and commercial outcomes.

As a newly established function, you will define program scope, governance, and delivery models, embedding sustainability, inclusion, and athlete wellbeing at the core. You will also lead PA’s diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility approach across programs and initiatives.

Interstate travel and occasional weekend work will be required.

About you

This role is well suited to a Paralympian, or someone with lived experience in disability or elite sport, who brings authenticity, credibility, and strong business acumen.

You are comfortable building new functions, setting direction, and operating autonomously. You combine commercial judgement and negotiation capability with a collaborative, values-driven leadership style, and are confident working across complex stakeholder environments.

What you will bring

  • Relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent experience in fields such as sport management, business, education, community development, social impact, or related disciplines.
  • Demonstrated leadership in program delivery, stakeholder engagement, or athlete services within complex environments
  • Experience leading social impact or community programs with clear outcomes and accountability
  • Strong relationship-building and influencing capability across athletes, sponsors, government, education, and community partners
  • Confidence managing budgets, contracts, and performance against agreed outcomes

Why join PA?

  • Newly created leadership role with genuine scope to build and shape
  • Work that delivers lasting impact beyond Games cycles
  • Flexible working arrangements and not-for-profit salary packaging
  • A passionate, high-performing team committed to inclusion

Our commitment

PA is an equal opportunities employer dedicated to fostering diversity and establishing an inclusive workplace for all employees.
