Reporting to the GM Financial Operations, the Internal Accountant supports day-to-day accounting activities with a focus on accounts payable, reconciliations, compliance support and month-end processes. You will work closely with the finance team to ensure accuracy, consistency and strong financial controls across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
End-to-end accounts payable processing, including invoice review, coding accuracy, approval workflows and payment preparation
Supplier account maintenance and discrepancy resolution
Support bank reconciliations, clearing accounts and balance sheet integrity
Assist with BAS preparation, ATO compliance and supporting documentation
Maintain accurate, audit-ready financial records
Support accounts receivable follow-up as required
Work within a centralised Xero environment, ensuring consistent processes and controls
Respond to finance-related queries from internal stakeholders
Contribute to continuous improvement of finance systems and workflows

You are organised, dependable and take pride in accurate financial work. You enjoy hands-on accounting tasks, follow processes well, and are comfortable working in an on-site team environment.
Essential Criteria
Qualification in Accounting or Bookkeeping (Certificate IV, Diploma or higher)
Demonstrated experience in accounts payable and financial operations
Experience using Xero, ideally in a multi-file or centralised environment
Working knowledge of BAS and ATO compliance requirements
High attention to detail and strong organisational skills
Clear written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work on-site at Crestmead, QLD 4208
Desirable
Experience in not-for-profit, sporting or membership-based organisations
Experience supporting audits or financial reviews
