About Netball Victoria

At Netball Victoria, we’re more than a sporting organisation, we’re a community dedicated to empowering lives through netball. Guided by our values of empowerment, innovation, and leadership, we aim to inspire and grow the sport while making a lasting impact – from grassroots to elite level.

About the role

Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Finance Business Partner serves as a trusted advisor to our Business Units (BUs), leaders and General Managers, providing timely, practical and solutions-focused financial guidance.

You will help shape budgets, forecasts, and performance reporting, ensuring leaders have the clarity, insight and confidence they need to achieve strategic and operational outcomes. A strong communicator and relationship-builder, you translate financial information into meaningful advice that supports planning, delivery and organisational impact.

This is a role for someone who values collaboration, is proactive in identifying risks and opportunities, and enjoys working across all areas in our purpose-driven organisation. You’ll also provide support and coverage for the COO as required.

Working across the breadth of the business, you will be responsible for, but not limited to:

  • Monitoring cost drivers and program financial performance.
  • Identifying risks, opportunities and efficiency improvements.

Management Reporting

  • Preparing monthly financial reports and insights for assigned BUs.
  • Contributing to Executive and Board reporting.
  • Tracking key financial and operational KPIs.

Commercial & Program Support

  • Assisting with business cases, pricing and costing.
  • Providing financial input for grants, funding and new initiatives.
  • Supporting revenue and efficiency improvement initiatives.

Financial Governance, Compliance & Risk

  • Ensuring compliance with financial policy, controls and regulatory requirements.
  • Supporting audit processes and promoting strong financial discipline.

Leadership & Organisational Contribution

  • Role-modelling Netball Victoria’s values to foster a positive, collaborative culture.
  • Communicating with clarity and supporting organisation-wide capability and growth.

What you will bring:

  • Minimum 5+ years’ experience in finance (FP&A, management accounting or business partnering).
  • CA or CPA qualification (or equivalent).
  • Experience supporting operational leaders with financial insights and recommendations.
  • Strong analytical, reporting and financial modelling capability.

  • High attention to detail, accountability and problem-solving ability.
  • Strong Excel, Word and presentation skills.
  • Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain).
  • An interest in sport and community impact is highly advantageous.

What we offer:
